Overview
STORIES OF WHEELS AND HAUTE COUTURE: WHAT YOU’LL SEE IN THE GALLERIES
When you buy your tickets for the Automobile and Fashion Museum, you’re not just gaining access to a simple exhibition, but to one of Europe’s most important private design collections. Spanning 6,000 square metres within the former 1920s tobacco factory (La Tabacalera), the exhibition authentically traces humanity’s aesthetic and social evolution through two parallel industries:
Jewels of Advanced Motoring: Among the hundred or so restored vehicles, unique pieces stand out, such as the customised Rolls-Royce encrusted with thousands of Swarovski crystals, historic racing cars from the Belle Époque, an iconic Mercedes 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ and an original DeLorean DMC-12 (famous from science fiction films), recently added to the permanent collection.
In addition, genuine historical prototypes are on display, demonstrating that alternative energies are nothing new, including vintage engines powered by steam, electricity, hydrogen and solar energy.

Haute Couture of Collective Identity: In perfect harmony with the vehicles, the display cases showcase over 300 authentic vintage fashion pieces. The tour offers a close-up look at the craftsmanship of the great masters of couture such as Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Givenchy and Prada, ranging from period hats and 19th-century ball gowns to contemporary multidisciplinary collections.
The final entry to the exhibition halls is permitted strictly 30 minutes before closing.
The venue closes midday between 14:30 and 16:00; please plan your visit accordingly.
The site is 100% pet-friendly, allowing you to explore the entire space with your dog on a leash.
